Barrister Ross McSwan and retired former school principal and senior system leader , Trevor Doyl have put together this book which recognises the complexity of the social and professional environments in schools and addresses the challenges presented to those who work in them. It addresses both the routine and the unique matters presented to those who are working with children. In all cases, the aim is to support those professionals to work to the very best of their ability.
The book essentially has two parts. It looks at issues and solutions around working with school cultures. It recognises the importance of developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing school cultures in order to provide a healthy working environment for all.
It then focusses on specific issues within that culture that leaders need to address both constantly and occasionally, and provides pathways for managing them.
